I'm new at this. I may not be an active participant, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
I welcome the opportunity for others to communicate here, too. I can see the benefits of sharing thoughts and events in my not-so-exciting life with my friends w/o having to take a lot of time to repeat myself....And there is a lot of good reasons to write out our thoughts. Journaling is good for all of us. Therapeutic and good to look back on, too.
I can't spend too much time on the computer however, or my work won't get done and my daughter would be upset to have me hogging the keyboard!
I wonder if the younger folk realize how much times have changed and how fortunate they are to have these luxuries...computers, microwaves, cell phones, cd and dvd players, and all the other neat tech toys that many have that I don't know much about! I'm thankful for my kids, who've pretty much taught me much of what I know about computers! Life does seem much more fast-paced today. I was sharing with one of my good friends the other day, of how different it is today. We were reminiscing about visiting our grandparents homes when we were little...they always made anyone who dropped by feel welcome to stay and "eat suppa" and then we'd sit out on the front lawn afterwards and talk, listen to Grampa tell his stories and wave to cars going by. We took time to sit and look at the stars (and get bit up by bugs!) I really miss them. I wish my kids had gotten to know them, too. Nowadays, everyone's too busy, in a hurry, involved in what's going on on the tube or spending time online....I'm going to try to not spend too much time here for that reason. I want to connect with people, yes, but I don't want to miss the chance to do it in person, either. Life is just too short to waste.
And....there's lots to be done! Maybe this should be the day I finally make progress on that bedroom and get joint compound all over myself! (Or maybe I'll do some mending....)
And, while I'm at it, I'm standing in faith for God to work in all of our lives. I carry on my heart, real needs of families who are needing healing for sick children, for others who are hurt emotionally and for others who have family members who are missing....still needing to find their way back home and to God. I struggle with myself, getting in the way for God's Spirit to work....I'm glad for forgiveness (from God and from those I've offended), but I need to CHANGE. There are material needs for many of us and decisions that need to be made for the future. Then, there are the needs in our country. Our President, the other gov. officials who are trying to preserve the fundamental values our country was built on and for every person who lives in this wonderful country.... Who would guess that we've come to allowing babies to be killed and making excuses why it should remain legal?! And to be looked down on because we stand up for marriage and against impurity. He has made our country strong and blessed us because we have based it all on the Word of God. When we disobey and turn our back on Him, then we reap consequences. If we do and say nothing, then we are guilty, too. That's why it's so important to interceed for America. The National Day of Prayer is on Thursday and I'm glad to be united in faith with other believers for our country to be convicted of sin and to turn back to the God of our fathers. I know God is big. He cares. He is able. My banner is VICTORY and that victory is the Lord's. I'm certain of that.
